Sandwich

video guide: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pQgK9plBsMw

Ingredients

  • Arugula (chopped)
  • Vine Tomatoes (smaller is juicier!)
  • Prosciutto
  • Mozzarrella (fior di latte) or any cheese/burrata of choice (flexible!)
  • Parmigiano cheese (shaved)
  • Ciabatta Bread (most commonly used for paninis)
  • Pesto
  • Minced garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Parchment Paper

Optional, but will make it taste better if you buy or add these:

  • Lemon juice (splash)

Instructions

  • Watch the tiktok video 2-3 times linked above as a reference.
  • Skim over the instructions too!
  • Everything can be done in sequential order. Nothing has to be done in parallel. So take your time.

Prepping the meat

We are going to roll this up, so we need the parchment paper

  1. On top of a large cutting board, place parchment paper.
  2. Spread prosciutto on top of the paper.
  3. Spread your cheese of choice on top.
  4. Drizzle pesto on top

The salad

Making the insides of the sandwich

  1. In a mixing bowl, put chopped arugula in.
  2. Cut up some tomatoes using scissors and place them in
  3. Put some shaved parmigiano cheese
  4. Splash lemon juice if you have (optional)
  5. Pinch of salt in
  6. Mix

Toasting the bread

This is basically making cheesy garlic bread

  1. Cut ciabatta bread in half.
  2. Bring frying pan up to a medium heat. Put decent amount of olive oil + minced garlic (2 squeezes/little bit)
  3. Place the inside of the bread onto the stove top. (Outside of bread pointing up!)
  4. Put more olive oil on top of the bread.
  5. Flip the bread now and place some more mozzarella cheese on top of the bread (inside now). (doesn't have to be too much!).
  6. Flip the bread again so the cheese is now directly touching the pan, then cover the pan with a lid. Careful of the bread burning or the cheese melting too much
  7. After a little bit, once it's toasted, take it out of the pan.

Making the sandwich

The finale

  1. Grab more parchment paper
  2. Place the bread on top
  3. Salad goes on top
  4. ROLL up the prosciutto from earlier then place it on top of the salad
  5. Pesto on top
  6. Cut in half

Enjoy!

Notes

  • Almost all of the measurements can be eyeballed!
  • It's going to be a big sandwich, so use less the first time you make this.
  • Add more in the future ones.
  • Make sure not to burn the bread when toasting it.
    • Use a lower heat to avoid burning it

Grocery shopping @ (my) whole foods:

Left side of whole foods:

  • Vine tomatoes (box of 3-6, smaller the juicier)
  • Arugula (there's a box of chopped ones usually near the fridge/salad section)
  • 1 Lemon (optional!)
  • Minced garlic check to see if we have some in the fridge! there should be a squeezable one, but not sure if it is expired or not

Right side of whole foods by the deli:

  • Prosciutto
  • Mozzarella (fior di latte if they have, otherwise any burrata of choice!)
  • Parmigiano cheese - small block (optional!)
  • Ciabatta Bread

Middle somewhere:

  • Pesto sauce (small jar)
  • Parchment Paper
