Classic Whiskey Sour

A perfectly balanced cocktail with bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Smooth, tart, and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (optional, for foam)
  • Angostura bitters
  • Ice
  • Lemon wheel and cherry for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using) to a shaker
  2. Dry shake (without ice) for 15 seconds to emulsify egg white
  3. Add ice and shake again for 10-15 seconds
  4. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice
  5. Add 2-3 dashes of bitters on foam
  6. Garnish with lemon wheel and cherry

Notes

  • Always use fresh lemon juice, never bottled
  • Egg white is optional but creates a nice foam layer
  • Can use maple syrup instead of simple syrup for variation
  • Adjust sweetness to taste
